Brittany Montour is a nature and wildlife artist currently based in Alaska. Her work consists of detailed and sometimes whimsical interpretations of nature using watercolor, ink and gouache as well as other mediums. Her use of lines and vibrant colors are inspired by vintage illustrations, old books and her design background. She tries to capture the essence of what she is creating through explorations, research and understanding of the species she is trying to portray. Having always loved history, it plays an integral role in her creative process.
Originally from the East Coast, Brittany is a graduate from Shepherd University with a BFA in Graphic Design. She uses all the knowledge she has gained to illustrate and edit her own work.
When she isn't creating, you can find her with her family enjoying the great outdoors, traveling, going to antique stores or museums, tending to her plants and finding inspiration in her day to day life.
